Zendala Self Portrait: Community based art project between university students in ART 4031 (Professional Art Practices) and middle school students. Students created portraits using Zendala design patterns that reflect their Lumbee heritage. This project encouraged cultural exploration, mindfulness, and artistic expression while fostering a deeper connection to personal and community identity through art. The project culminated in an exhibition at the UNCP Thomas Entrepreneurship Hub where students, parents, and community members were invited to share and discuss the work. Course classified as Service Learning (SL).
